In November of 2011 I met Sean online through a mutual friend and Iowa Pagan Alliance. He and I chatted off and on through Facebook. We stayed only friends for a few months, and then in April of 2012 we decided to meet. We had our first date on April 20. We went to the local drive-in theater and watched a couple of really bad movies. Despite that, and a little shy awkwardness, we really hit it off! The next day I went to visit him. After that we were inseparable and we spent all our time together. We have had a few bumps in the road along the way, some worse than others. But after we were able to work out and overcome our issues, our relationship got stronger. The love we share now is very deep and strong.
This week we announced our engagement to our families in person, and then to our friends online. So far we have gotten so much love and support, and for that we are very thankful. It is great to know we have the blessing of so many to follow our hearts and commit forever to one another.
Now we are busy planning a beautiful, small ceremony sometime next year. For those closest to us, invitations and details will be sent out sometime this coming spring, along with one of our engagement pictures for the recipients.
But that’s not all! We are also planning a tubal ligation reversal surgery for me, so that Sean and I can have a child together. He has no kids of his own, and I am overjoyed to expand my family with him. I found a wonderful OBGYN that can do the surgery well, and at an affordable price for us.
This is a very exciting time for us, and I look forward to sharing our experiences through this blog as our plans come into action.
