My 9 year old son Evan has always had a hard time with self-control and compassion for others. These are always things I encourage, so when he comes up with something that displays caring for others, I encourage him greatly! Well today he brought home a paper for Jump Rope For Heart from his school. He was excited about some of their prizes, but that was not his focus. His focus was on helping those kids in the stories get help for their heart conditions. See, Evan’s grandma has a heart condition, and my late fiance died of a heart attack. So heart issues are something very near to us. He asked me to set up his donation website and start collecting donations, and even donated 5 dollars of his own money to get started. It is the first time he has shown interest in something so generous!
So though I don’t ask for anything from my readers usually, I would like to take this opportunity to ask you all for a small donation. Every dollar counts to help kids with heart conditions. And every dollar toward Evan’s goal of $150.00 would help fulfill his desire to donate to a great cause. Click the graphic to visit Evan’s donation page and to donate to the cause!
Everyone who donates will be entered into a drawing to receive a $10 Amazon gift card as thanks for your support of my son’s efforts. Donations are being accepted until February 28, 2014, so I will post the winner of the drawing on my blog in a new blog entry on March 1st. Thanks so much for your support in the fight against heart disease, and for supporting my Evan’s wonderful efforts.
