How do I get it back when I’ve reasoned it all away?  How do I get back the security in knowing that someone is watching over me, helping me along, and guiding me through life?  How do I get my head out of science and just regain my faith again?  I feel like I’ve let it go too far, and I can’t stop now.  Its lonely in this place of no faith.  I really need some guidance.

  1. Even the most religious person will have a lapse in their faith at some point. But the good thing about faith… no matter what faith you are serving, whoever it is that you feel the most drawn to believing in, is forgiving. There isn't any faith that will turn their back on you completely because you questioned. The important thing is to get back to it and allow yourself to feel that faith again without thinking it's to far gone.

I'm still in my questioning my own faith right now… and you are right, it is a very lonely place to not know where/what you are believing in! 🙂

  2. Isaiah 53:6
:All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him”.
Mother Teresa did not feel Christ's presence for the last half of her life. Keeping faith is difficult for all of us.
I think it's really courageous of you to be humble enough to share your feelings on this topic. Many are too proud. I do not know your upbringing, but I can offer you a Christian perspective. (I consider myself more of a hippie Christ-follower…)
Although it may feel like you have gone too far, Jesus wants to meet you where you are at. He doesn't expect you to be a certain place or a meet a specific criteria. We are so accustomed to people putting conditions on loving us, yet He doesn't do that. He just loves unconditionally even when we are lost, broken, and unbelieving. God is always pursuing you even if it may not feel like it.
I would try praying. Ask God to soften and change your heart. Ask for ways to see Him within science. Recently I asked God to reveal himself to me and He moved. Big time. Obviously I can't guarantee that. But I can guarantee that He is listening to your prayers.
Also, some of the Psalms in the bible are really good ways to start forming your prayers. Psalm 119 is really good for wanting a desiring to strengthen your faith. I would recommend the entire chapter. You are not alone in this. Many of Jesus's closest followers had a hard time with this, as do many of us today.
I'll be prayin for ya! Take Care!
