Hello! I am Shauna, happily taken, and proud mom to 3 boys ages 14, 12 and 11, step-mom (sorta) to a 13 year old boy, and we have many furry and feathery family members. I was a full-time Vet Assistant at a private Veterinary practice until I became unable to do my job… but I loved it. I learned something new every day, all the while playing with and getting to know people’s beloved pets. I hope to one day go back to it.
I follow an Earth-based and science-based belief system. I found my path over 20 years ago but it has grown and evolved with me. I feel faith is a very personal and individual journey. I feel most influenced by the Celtic and Native American ways of life and by science, but I take what feels right from all over.
I am heavily tattooed, and dabbled in tattooing for a while. I enjoy being able to wear some of my favorite images on my skin to see every day. I have always been an artistic soul. I take lots of photos, create digital art (including the graphics on my pages/blogs), draw, sculpt, and whatever else I can get my hands on.
I am a peace-lover. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good debate. But when its all said and done, I don’t hold grudges or resentments. I am good at letting go the things that upset or anger me. But I always learn from those lessons. I believe war is ridiculous, and as cliche as it may sound, I wish we could all just get along.
There is so much to any one person, I cannot possibly begin to tell you all about me in this little space. Reading my posts and watching my vlogs is the best way to get to know more… unless of course you’d like to chat… in which case hit me up in any of the ways listed in my contact info. But besides that, I just hope you enjoy the blog!

About Ink & Earth – now HippieLady:
I chose to include this section because “Ink & Earth” is not dead… it will be resurrected one day.
For many years I have had blogs. A blog for spirituality, a blog for personal matters, and a blog for family matters. One of my blogs got a lot of traffic at one time. But life happened, and the blogs lost their appeal to both me and my followers. However, I find blogging very therapeutic, and a good use of time. Not to mention its a great record-keeper for craft and activity ideas, recipes, memories and more! So here I am again, with another blog. This time it is a melting pot – throwing all of my bloggy thoughts, shares and ramblings into one place. One day I may rant about the frustrations of ADHD. Another day I may post a very zen meditation. And yet another time I may post a recipe or craft. There could be song lyrics, movie reviews, news articles, cut-and-paste shares (with credit, when available), humor, and so much more! You never know what you’ll get when you check out this site. So subscribe if you like, or just check back when you feel like it, if that’s more your style. Polite comments are always welcome, and I don’t mind if you share my posts with your friends.
What’s with the name Ink & Earth? Well my blog didn’t always have this name. I have tried out many names, and none of them stuck or resonated with me. All of them were based around one part of my life or another. Being a mom or being a Pagan. I always loved the names when I first started them, but with time it just didn’t feel right, and it certainly didn’t illustrate in words what my blog was all about.
When I finally decided to choose an all-encompassing name, I chose ‘Ink” because I have always enjoyed creating art. I have used many mediums such as written word, drawing, computers, and tattoo. Also, I am heavily tattooed, thus having ink throughout my skin. It is a big part of my appearance. ‘Ink’ is in my blog name to reflect the many uses ink has had and will continue to have throughout my life.
I chose ‘Earth’ because she sustains me, nourishes me, and provides me with shelter and protection from the great big cosmos. Even if given the chance to leave, I would stay here because I was born here, grew here, and want to remain in the earthly life cycle. There are many beauties in the world from water, to animals, to plant life and so much more. I have a deep appreciate for it all!
So together ‘Ink & Earth’ encompasses my world, my reality, my individuality for the past, present and future. It is 2 words that represent my life as an individual and as part of the universal collective. And within the virtual walls of my blog I write about topics within my life that are important to me or that I’d like to remember and/or share with others. It all fits together quite nicely for me.
